Discover Lake Vänern and its fantastic archipelagos by kayak! Lake Vänern is Sweden’s and Europe’s most magnificent lake, offering magical nature and exciting history. With its sparkling waters and open horizon, Lake Vänern is a magnificent inland sea. And its more than 22,000 islands and islets form Europe’s largest freshwater archipelago. Here you will find barren cliffs and forested islands, sheltered bays and beautiful beaches. Places for both adventure and relaxation! Lake Vänern is an oasis for paddlers, sailors, birdwatchers and outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who wants to take part in the untouched beauty with its exciting history. There is much to tell here about both flora and fauna, shipping and people’s lives through the millennia. Did you know that Lake Vänern was once a real sea and that, among other things, there are beautiful rock carvings from the Bronze Age on Lake Vänern’s shore? Lake Vänern has six different archipelagos, each with its own character and charm. My paddling trips take place in the archipelagos of Lurö, Millesvik, Tösse and Yttre Bodane, all of which are located in Dalbosjön – the western part of Lake Vänern. All of these archipelagos are nature reserves. Weather and wind, as well as the participants, make each trip unique. What the tours have in common is a knowledgeable and personal guide that takes place at a comfortable and safe pace, where the route is adapted to the wind and waves and the ability of the participants.

We always go ashore on one of the islands to take in the unique environment and history of the place and to enjoy a home-baked coffee bread or freshly caught fish from Lake Vänern with ingredients from the surrounding nature.
