Yttre Bodane

We visit the very diverse nature reserve Yttre Bodane to experience the forest in a unique environment. The nature reserve consists of a heavily hilly part of the Vänern coast where a number of mountain ridges and rock outcrops are interrupted by smaller bogs and marshes in valleys and depressions. In the southern parts, the landscape juts out into Vänern to split up into an archipelago rich in islands. Spans and bridges on the nearly twelve-kilometer-long hiking trails make it possible to go far out into the archipelago on foot. The path leads through coniferous forest and rocky areas with lots of pine where blueberries, lingonberries, crowberries and heather also grow. The grass krustätel, with yellow-brown, almost reddish panicles, spreads out in places on the drier lands. Larger boulders, cliffs that appear to be supported by thick tree trunks, the gray-haired lichen cover and the path’s bare winding tree roots reinforce the feeling of untouched wilderness.

950 kr

For 4 hours we get to know the Yttre Bodane nature reserve and the forest better. We follow the paths through the reserve’s different natural environments and look at the different habitat types, the forest, other plants, lichens and fungi as well as the wildlife. There is a lot to discover here! Together we help each other identify the species we see. Magnifying glasses, binoculars and books are available to borrow. We use all our senses and learn more about the forest ecosystem and all the life in it. We end the hike with food from the forest that we cook over an open fire. The hike is suitable for children and adults and for those who can handle a more difficult hike. NO TOURS AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING RIGHT NOW!
